About Working with FrontPage Extensions

Microsoft FrontPage has its own protected directory feature. If your domain supports Microsoft FrontPage Extensions, do not use the directory protection provided by WEBppliance; instead, use FrontPage to provide directory protection. For information on this FrontPage feature, see the Microsoft FrontPage user guide.

The WEBppliance Help topics about setting up and managing protected directories pertain only to the directory protection feature provided by WEBppliance. If your domain supports FrontPage, the WEBppliance directory protection forms do not show up in your window; instead, you will see links to the Microsoft FrontPage administration pages.

To access the Microsoft FrontPage administration links:

  1. Open the Apache Web Server Manager.

  2. In the Apache Web Server Manager menu, click Protect Directories.

  3. In the Protect Directories form, click Microsoft FrontPage Extension Permission Management Interface.

Note: The default Microsoft FrontPage Administrator user name and password is the Site Administrator user name and password assigned to you when your domain was created. If your Site Administrator user name or password has changed since then, the change is not reflected in FrontPage Administrator. You can change the FrontPage Administrator user name or password using the FrontPage Extension Permission Management Interface.
